Last week the UU announced the policies regarding the extension of contracts of short-term research staff (PhDs and Postdocs). Part of the project is that there will be a 6 million euro fund available to help cover the costs of the extensions. Contracts will mostly be extended for a maximum of 3 months. All the info and details you can find following this link
If you follow the link all documents will be available, in Dutch only at the moment unfortunately. The fund is split in two parts, short-term and long-term. We send out this message now concerning those who want to apply for the short-term fund. It is important to note that if you contract ends before January 1st 2021, you need to apply to the short-term funds before July 17. So, if you believe you need to apply for this fund and have not done so yet, do get in touch with your supervisor ASAP. As there are no translations, unfortunately we have to advise you to find someone who can speak Dutch to help you with these documents.
Here, you can also find some guidelines to help guide and structure a conversation about extensions with your supervisor. This is from PNN (national PhD council) and VSNU (national university collaboration).
Once we have all the documents translated we will upload more information to our website and update you via our newsletter, but we want to send out this message considering the deadline for application to the short-term fund.
